An at home workshop kit benefitting Vecindarios901.

Petals of Protest is a DIY pressed flower kit for making protest art at home. It’s meant to be a way to move anger, grief, or resistance through your hands and into something physical, either on your own or with people you trust.

This kit grew out of community response to recent ICE violence nationwide and enforcement here in Memphis. Rather than hosting another in-person workshop right now, we’re offering the kit so people can make and process together on their own terms.

What's in the kit:

Each kit includes an 8x10 frame, pressed flowers, slogan templates to spell out short protest messages like “Fuck ICE,” “Abolish ICE,” or “No Kings,” along with glue and a printed instruction guide. There is no workshop associated with this kit. Everything is designed to be completed at home, at your own pace.

The fundraiser:

For each of the first 60 kits sold, Midtown Bramble will donate $25 to Vecindarios901, a Memphis-based organization doing boots-on-the-ground work to protect immigrant communities from the impacts of ICE. The remaining $25 covers materials and processing fees. All labor for the first 50 kits is being donated by Midtown Bramble. Our fundraising goal is $1,500.

If the 60 kit donation goal is reached, the kits will remain available for purchase if there is continued demand. Sales beyond the first 60 kits do not include an additional per-kit donation and help cover the labor and overhead required to continue making them.

About Vecindarios901:

Vecindarios901 provides direct support and protection for Memphis immigrant communities facing ICE enforcement. You can learn more about their work at bit.ly/vecindarios or on Instagram at @vecindarios901.

Kits are available for shipping or for in-store pickup at 2294 Young Ave. This is a pre-order. Please allow 1–2 weeks for fulfillment, as each kit is assembled by hand and we are currently navigating severe winter weather.

If you need to make something with your hands right now, something that holds anger and care at the same time, this is for you.
