Learn to use sunlight and fresh botanicals to create a one-of-a-kind printed tote using the cyanotype process — a light-sensitive technique that produces beautiful blue impressions of flowers, leaves, and stems. In this workshop, we'll walk you through the process start to finish, and you'll leave with a completed tote that is entirely unique.
This workshop will take place on Saturday, May 16th at 2 pm at Midtown Bramble and Bloom, located at 2294 Young Avenue, Memphis. Your ticket price includes all materials and your completed tote to take home.
Rain date: this workshop requires sunlight. In case of rain, we will move the workshop to Sunday May 17th. If you aren't able to make the rain date, you'll receive the choice of either a DIY kit with detailed instructions or a credit towards a future workshop.
Want to print on something more personal? Select the Bring Your Own Fabric upgrade at checkout. Drop off a garment or piece of fabric (up to one yard) by May 9th and we'll treat it with the cyanotype solution for you. The add-on price covers treatment labor, chemicals, and any additional botanicals used on your piece. You'll still create your tote during the workshop — the fabric piece is in addition to that. This process works best on natural fibers and lighter colors. Denim, cotton, linen, muslin in light colors are all great options.
Make it a true happy hour: you're welcome to bring your own snacks and beverages (including alcohol).
Please note: as our workshops frequently sell out, we do not offer refunds on workshop tickets. Tickets are transferable, and we encourage you to offer your spot to a friend if you can no longer make it.
